How to Submit Your Website to Bing (Step by Step)

Last updated October 21, 2026

To submit your website to Bing, sign in to Bing Webmaster Tools, add your site, prove you own it, and submit your sitemap. If your site is already verified in Google Search Console, you can import it in a few clicks. Bing results also feed other search sites such as Yahoo. Appearance and ranking are never guaranteed.

What do I need before I start?

You need a free account to sign in to Bing Webmaster Tools, such as a Microsoft account or a Google account, and the web address of your site. If your site is already set up in Google Search Console, you can skip the ownership step by importing it. If your site has a sitemap, keep its address handy. It is usually at yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml.

How do I add my website to Bing Webmaster Tools?

  1. Go to bing.com/webmasters and sign in.
  2. Choose Add a site.
  3. You will see two options: import your site from Google Search Console, or add it manually. If your site is already verified in Search Console, choose Import, which is the faster path.
  4. To add it manually, type your full web address, starting with https://, and select Add. Then prove ownership as described below.

How do I import my site from Google Search Console?

  1. Select Import and sign in to the Google account that owns your Search Console property.
  2. Select Allow. This gives Bing read-only access to your list of verified sites and sitemaps. It does not give Bing your search performance data.
  3. Tick your site in the list and select Import. Your sitemap comes across too.

Bing re-checks ownership through Search Console from time to time, so keep your Google verification in place.

How do I prove I own my website to Bing?

If you added your site manually, Bing offers three ways to verify it.

After you finish, select Verify in Bing Webmaster Tools.

How do I submit my sitemap to Bing?

  1. Open Sitemaps in the left menu.
  2. Select Submit sitemap.
  3. Enter your full sitemap address, for example https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml.
  4. Select Submit.

If you imported your site from Google, check the list first. Your sitemap may already be there, marked as imported. A new sitemap can show Processing for a day or two before Bing reports any pages found.

Do I have to submit my website to Bing?

No. Bing also finds sites by following links, but submitting lets you see any problems it finds and can speed up discovery. Bing results also feed other search sites, such as Yahoo, so it can reach people who never use Bing directly.

How long does it take for my website to show up on Bing?

It can take from a few days to a few weeks, and no service can promise a date. Right after you submit, Bing Webmaster Tools may show your sitemap as Processing with no pages found. This is normal at first. To check, search for site:yourdomain.com in Bing, using your own address.

Does Bing guarantee a ranking if I submit my site?

No. Submitting only helps the search engine find your pages. Where they rank depends on many other things, such as the quality of your content and links from other sites. SEORegistration.com cannot guarantee any ranking, traffic, or results.
